Research Associate, Climate and Energy Program
Shakuntala Makhijani is a research associate with the Worldwatch Institute’s Climate and Energy Program, where she focuses on sustainable energy policy and development in the Caribbean, India, and elsewhere. Prior to joining Worldwatch she worked on international climate policy issues at the Center for Clean Air Policy. Shakuntala holds an M.S. from the University of Michigan and a B.S.F.S. from Georgetown University.
While the effects of climate change are being felt worldwide, it is in the most vulnerable developing states that the most significant impacts will be felt. Mitigating against the effects of climate change requires unparalleled levels of cooperation across different sectors and different types of organizations: this session will examine how best to address climate change and its effects on the region.
