Dr. Andrew Steer

Special Envoy for Climate Change

Dr. Steer is responsible for guiding the World Bank Group's work on climate change and for advancing a strong pro-development climate agenda internationally. Prior to his appointment, he served as Director General, Policy and Research at the UK Department of International Development. He was also Staff Director of the 1992 World Development Report on Environment and Development, the Bank’s Flagship report to the Rio Earth Summit. In August 2012, Dr. Steer will assume the post of President of the World Resources Institute.
