Sessions
Protection & Security
How are citizens taking the lead in preparing for, responding to and recovering from disasters? Gov. McCallum will discuss the need for building networks and infrastructure to increase security and resilience at the local level. Individuals and communities and local organizations utilizing social networks, such as churches and children's activities, can be more aware and better prepared to cope with disasters and develop cooperation to anticipate emergencies and create strategies for recovery.
Transport & logistics
Adimatrix provides supply chain solutions to the humanitarian sector, specifically in the areas of hunger, disaster and medical relief. Governor McCallum will share examples of these solutions at work during the Midwest flooding, and every day for food banks in Texas. Internationally, we will look at learnings from the Aidmatrix Foundation's work with our partners who deliver critical supplies to stricken communities in Haiti and in Japan.
